The Client

Client Features & Commands

The partyline got a full 2026 rebuild — grouped chat, DMs, reactions and profiles — and it's still byte-compatible with original clients, so newcomers and veterans share the same room. Here's the tour, and every command you can type.

In the lobby

Pick your layout in Settings: a modern grouped view, a thumb-friendly mobile layout, or faithful classic tabs. Everything below degrades gracefully — legacy clients still read every word.

Modern partyline

Discord-style chat — grouped message bursts, timestamps, colour-coded names, avatars, clickable links and markdown-lite (*bold*, _italic_, `code`). Classic plain-text mode is one tap away.

Private messages

DM any player in docked tabs over the lobby, with a "typing…" indicator, quote-replies and unread badges. /msg and /reply work from anywhere.

Reactions & emoji

React to any message with a tap. Drop emoji by shortcode (:fire:, :tada:) with autocomplete — they travel as text so even original clients read them.

@Mentions & profiles

@mention to ping someone; tap a name for a rich profile card with lifetime stats, badges and a link to their web profile.

Fun & utilities

Run a quick /poll, roll dice, flip a coin, ask the 8-ball, set yourself /away, or (as operator) set the channel /topic and /pin a message.

Subscriber stickers

A die-cut sticker set — characters and word art — for Blocktrix Plus members, droppable in the partyline or a DM.

Command reference

Type these into the chat box on any Blocktrix server. Operator- and subscriber-only commands appear when they apply to you.

Old client, new server — no problem. Every modern feature is layered on the original wire protocol. Reactions, quotes, badges and stickers travel as invisible or plain-text markers, so a year-2000 client just sees clean chat while a 2026 client sees the full experience — in the very same channel.
