Ways to Play
Blocktrix is a six-player specials war first — but there's plenty to do without a server, too. Here's the full menu: solo challenges, CPU brawls, the daily leaderboard run, and the online channel types that change how a match plays.
Nine single-player modes plus CPU brawls — every one runs offline and now earns achievements and badges, each with its own local high-score list.
The endless classic — clear lines, climb the levels, chase the highest score until the stack tops out. No specials, no opponents.
Exactly two minutes on the clock, speed ramping as you clear. Rack up the most points before time's up.
Clear 40 lines as fast as you can — gravity stays gentle, so it's pure hand speed. Lower time wins.
A pure sprint: build up and land a single four-line clear (a 4Tris) in the shortest time possible.
The endurance sprint — clear seven 4Trises as quickly as you can. Minimum total time.
Three minutes to send the most garbage — every 2+ line clear fires lines at a phantom rival. Most sent wins.
Rising garbage speeds up the longer you last, with no specials to save you. Dig back out with big clears — a double sinks 1 extra line, a triple 2, a 4Tris 3. Score is seconds survived.
Sticks & Squares only — nothing else in the bag. Slam down 200 pieces as fast as you can; it's all in the hands.
Start on a random hand-designed map — its own block mix, specials and sudden-death timing. Clear as many lines as you can before it buries you. Each map keeps its own high scores.
Battle up to five computer opponents in a full specials match. Set the difficulty from 1 (very easy) to 5 (insane) — the bots read reachable placements and fight back.
A single three-stage run, scored out of 10, one attempt per day — the ranked solo ladder.
Land seven four-line clears as fast as you can. Speed is everything.
Send the most lines in three minutes, with rising garbage kicking in partway through.
Outlast garbage that rises from the very first piece. Every piece dropped counts.
Your three stage scores average into a mark out of 10. The best runs land on the All-Around champions board — play it on server.blocktrix.org.
A server's channels each set their own rules. Most ship in a relaxed variant and a full-speed #Fast variant. Jump into the busiest one with Quick Play.
Hand-built community maps from the original era — each with its own starting layout, block mix and sudden-death rules. They're the backbone of the Maps channels and a deep well of variety no two games repeat.
